Slap on the Face of Democracy!

India’s daughter is documentary made by BBC on the Johti Singh, who was brutally gang rape on 16 December, 2012 in the capital of India. It is a huge shame that the documentary is banned in India because this has disclosed the true faces of Indian men to the world. Who think that it is their right to rape a woman when she comes out of her home after 8:30 or Ā 9:30 PM. I think banning this documentary by Indian government is the slap on the face of so called world’s biggest democracy The lawyers of rapists are such an ignored people one even can’t think of it. As long as we have such law defenders in our countries I endure you that crimes are in safe hands and anyone can rape a woman whenever he wants. Here is what the lawyers claims to defend those evil rapists, Ā  “The female is just like a flower. It gives a good-looking…very softness performance, pleasant. But on the other hand, a man is just like a thorn. strong, tough enough. That flower always needs protection if you put that flower in a gutter, it is spoilt. If you put that flower in a temple, it will be worshipped. They left our Indian culture. They were under the imagination of the film culture, in which they can do nothing. she should not be put on the streets just like food. The ‘lady’ on the other hand, you can say the ‘girl’ or ‘woman’ are more precious than a gem, than a diamond. It is up to you how you want to keep that diamond in your hand. If you put your diamond in the street, certainly the dog will take it out. You can’t stop it. In our society, we never allow our girls to come out from the house after 6:30 or 7:30 or 8:30 in the evening with any unknown person. You are talking about man and woman as friends. Sorry, that doesn’t have any place in our society. A women means I immediately put the sex in his eyes. We have the best culture. In our culture, there is no place for a woman” (M.L Sharma defence lawyer for the rapist). “If very important if very necessary she should go outside but she should go with their family members like uncle, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, etc etc. She should not go in night hours with her boyfriend. (AP Singh defence lawyers for the rapist)”. We really don’t want such evil people in our courts.Ā

I am an Indian! And I’m sad that such people exist here… A lot of wrong stuff is done in the name of “culture”… Things are twisted as per one’s convenience… Punishments and laws should be made stricter… Hope to witness a better India soon!

No country nor place should suffer violence against women, no matter what excuse the lawyers come up with. Justice should be served against those cowards that attack innocent women going about their lives.

    • faridanaz · March 6, 2015

I am totally agree with you and I think those lawyers also be punished…

      • andy1076 · March 6, 2015

this is a travesty and we should refuse to live in a world where women are the sheep and men the wolves,we are human for God’s sake

It may be a shame to ban the documentary but you have contributed to it by highlighting the name of the victim. When Nirbhaya’s father opposed to the documentary as it describes her name,it is not right in your part to display it.

The defense lawyers are ignorant? Should the defendants not have defense lawyers?

We convict enough innocent people as is. Imagine how corrupt prosecutors would become without defense lawyers to oppose them.
